About the KINETIC 2 TRIAL.

Purpose of the KINETIC 2 TRIAL.

The purpose of this clinical research study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of three different doses of an investigational drug compared to placebo on tremor reduction.

Who may be eligible to participate.

In order to be eligible, participants must meet the following criteria, in addition to other criteria:

  • Be 18 to 80 years old
  • Formally diagnosed with essential tremor for at least three years with localized upper limb tremors on both sides of the body
  • Be willing to discontinue medications taken for the treatment of essential tremor at least 14 days prior to the study and for the study’s duration
  • Use an acceptable method of contraception
  • Willing and able to comply with the study instructions

There are additional qualification requirements and substance use restrictions that the study doctor can explain to you. Eligible participants may receive reasonable compensation for their time and travel.

Study participation.

Participation in the KINETIC 2 TRIAL lasts approximately 19 weeks and consists of 11 study visits and five phone calls, including:

A screening period lasting up to 28 days with one study visit

A treatment period lasting 90 days with eight study visits and five phone calls

A follow-up period lasting 14 days with two study visits

Throughout the study, your study doctor may perform a number of tests and procedures, including but not limited to:

Physical exams

Neurological exams

Blood and urine sample collections
